Ingredient name
Grape seed oil
INCI name:
VITIS VINIFERA (GRAPE) SEED OIL
Grapeseed oil is loaded with valuable properties. It is a natural antioxidant and extremely effective in the fight against premature skin-ageing.
It is also rich in powerful flavonoids including proanthocyanidin and resveratrol, as well as Vitamins E, A and C.
Grapeseed oil is high in the polyunsaturated linolic acid Omega-B (up to 70%) making it the most important cosmetic property of this plant-derived product. Specifically this means it supports the skin’s optimal moisture level and stimulates regeneration of the skin’s outer layer.
In combination with the mono-unsaturated oleinic acid Omega-9 (up 25%), linolic acid has anti-inflammatory and immuno-stimulating properties.
Grapeseed oil also contains significant anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties.

Scientific evidence
[1] Scientists have compared the antioxidant properties of grape leaves, skin and seeds, concluding that grape seeds are the most effective at absorbing free radicals.
[2] The powerful antioxidant resveratrol, which is found in grapeseed oil, can complement traditional treatments when antibiotics are not effective.

[3] It has been proven that resveratrol stimulates the production of cathelicidin in the skin, thereby enabling the body to fight against microbes.
