Biotin

Biotin (also known as vitamin B7, vitamin H) plays an important role in biological processes running in the body, regulating fatty acid and protein metabolism in particular. It is produced by microflora in bowels, while some amount of it gets absorbed from food consumed.

Vitamin B7 is extremely important for skin health, as it stimulates collagen production and helps to accelerate healing of damaged skin. It also facilitates restoration of the natural hydro-lipid barrier, which protects the skin from harmful external influences and promotes moisturisation of skin. It helps balancing oil gland activity, fights acne, and prevents the skin from photoageing, by protecting it from UV rays.

Vitamin B7 is just as important for hair. It facilitates adherence and optimal nourishment of hair follicles, therefore preventing premature hair fall. Biotin also helps strengthening weak and thin hair, from root till the very ends, makes the hair more shiny and sleek. Through normalising hydro-lipid balance of the scalp, it helps to prevent hair oiliness, or conversely, prevent the hair from being too dry.
