Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

An anti-ageing ingredient that belongs to the signal peptide class. This water-soluble powder consists of four amino acids (glycine-glutamine-proline-arginine) tied to palmic acids to improve skin absorption.

It has an anti-inflammatory effect, and stimulates collagen regeneration in dermis fibers acting as a sort of cell messenger. It orders the skin cells to produce collagen and hyaluronic acid, while also suppressing inflammatory processes that directly contribute to quicker skin ageing. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 can also help improve skin texture and restore its volumes.

Consistent use helps restore skin elasticity and minimises the appearance of wrinkles. In cosmetic products it is often combined with other peptides to achieve synergic effect. It is most commonly used in eye care products since it has a good effect on thinner skin.

Scientific evidence

[1] It is scientifically proven that palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 minimizes skin irritation after UVB-ray exposure and stimulates collagen and laminin production, attributing to skin frame strengthening and improves skin's regenerative ability. Due to this palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 is actively used in anti-ageing cosmetics.
